Since its launch in 1977, the Star Wars movies have gone on to become one of the most popular and lucrative film franchises in history. While the movies have grossed over $30 billion, they’ve also been undeniably expensive and challenging to produce, particularly the original three films made in the 1970s and early 1980s, which are now dubbed Episodes IV to VI.
